It's nice just talking about life and the love that makes it wonderful.

Faith and Doubt

by Ronald Habana Jr.

Many times we ask God, why is life this hard? Some were answered while some, left with just wonderings if He realy exists. The human kind; even though we are living in this world for thousands of years and that we are now looking forward to the next generation of life still, we question our origin. We question God. How and why? Year 2012, many clamored for this year as the end of our race. Once again, we ask Him, is it really the end? Are you taking it all back? Will there be any salvation? What to believe? Or if others may say, should we really believe?
At times like this when disastrous events rattle our nation, when we badly need the faith to keep on burning, doubt seems to find its way within our hearts to the point that we question God in many ways. But what is faith anyway? And what is the constant doubt that simply corrupts our love for God?
They say that one's faith can be meassured when a certain situation of a near-death phenomenon happens to him/her. It is also said that in the last few seconds of one's life, it will do such last prayers of salvation to the God that gave him/her life. But to what extent is our faith to Him? I wonder how can these seemingly unbearable events create such stregth in one's faith while there are many typical days that pass and yet the faith seems to be sleeping.
Personally, I don't believe that faith should be meassured. There is no such thing as the levels or degrees of one's faith. To have faith in general is to have that simple trust and belief without anything to prove it visually or physically that there He is, watching over us and caring for us; loving us back. Though not all are such open-minded as the others, still they consider such faith eveb when there is the doubt that constantly corrupts them.
Doubt in the other hand will always come along side faith. It is when your faith is in the highest or strongest then in just one snap, in just one situation such doubt will pull it down. It is when we start to question, it is when we start to distrust. The moment we start disbelieving is the moment when doubt conquers us. I believe that every people in their quest of believing in God, have been touched by the hands of doubt but although it may stem out in our faith we find ways to stop it. Sometimes it is not us who really stop this doubt, it the things we see and the things that change our lives; this things that we actually don't recognize us the physical representation of God. It is also when we stop asking questions and when we let such things fade that doubt will simply diminish. Just let it all flow and let us be carried not by the hands of doubt but the hands of God.
